The cross-section of the Y-type sealing ring is Y-shaped, which is typical of a lip seal. Because its service life and sealing performance are higher than the O-ring's, it has been widely used in reciprocating sealing devices.
Y-type sealing rings can be divided into wide Y-type rings, narrow Y-type rings, and Yx-type rings according to the length-to-width ratio of the cross-section. The wide-section Y-type ring has a slightly lower pressure resistance than the narrow Y-type ring and can only be used in working environments with a pressure of less than 20MPa. The narrow Y-type ring can be used in situations where the working pressure is less than 32MPa.
According to whether the height of the two lips is consistent, it can be divided into unequal-height-lip Y-type ring seals for shafts, unequal-height-lip Y-type ring seals for holes, and equal-height-lip Y-type ring seals.
Different materials have different working speed ranges. When made of nitrile rubber, it is {{0}}.01~0.6m/s; when made of fluoro rubber, it is 0.05~0.3m/s; when made of polyurethane rubber, it is 0.01~1m/s.
